Who’s fault is it?

Mar 19, 2024

Whose fault is it? Is it the fault of an individual born into underprivileged circumstances or the fault of someone wealthy? Perhaps, blaming one person or community alone is unjust. But, I need someone to blame for this misconduct in our society.

The economic disparity between all of us changes just about everything. It changes our diet, the look of our homes, our profession and of course, the quality and accessibility of education we receive. Those with financial means can afford superior education, benefiting from exceptional educators, specialized coaching, and unlimited access to educational resources such as textbooks and stationery. Some may squander these opportunities, considering them inconsequential, while others are confined to irregular schooling systems where teachers may be inconsistent in attendance.

But I firmly believe in the transformative power of education, the power of a notebook. It can ignite the flame that kindles change in the world.

I don’t blame the system, I blame me. If only I had done more to share my knowledge and resources with those less fortunate than myself. I have mugged up phrases like “sharing is caring”, what does it truly entail? People will have more than myself, people will have less than what i have. To lead a life that I don’t regret, I am gonna share. I've resolved to live a life free of regret by sharing whatever I can.

To those reading my blog, I implore you to join me in this commitment to share. Trust me it's not that hard. It doesn't have to be extravagant gestures; this isn’t always how one can measure a successful helpful deed. it can begin with a smile to brighten someone's day. It's on you and me. Let's stand together and declare, "I take responsibility, I take the blame, we are at fault" Acknowledging a problem is the first step to solving it, and the remaining 20% is action. Whenever you sense an opportunity to help, seize it and be part of the solution. While we may not transform lives entirely, isn't it better than doing nothing?
